It should not: Be a problem. Alcohol may decrease your heart rate slightly which would increase the effect off the atenolol. It may also increase your blood pressure which the atenolol would counter. It may be press your central nervous system which the atenolol does not do. It should not interfere with the absorption of atenololif you took it five hours ago.
