Probably Best: The cause of knee pain in your age group varies, but is often related to exercise and activity. Most causes are benign and don't have lasting effects. However, I'm concerned that you report the knee is hot. Given this, and the length of time you've had symptoms, it's probably best to have your knee looked at in person by your doctor.

Knee pain: Continue RICE. Don't bear weight on that knee and see your doctor on Monday. If pain gets worse go to ER.
