My ex lungs collasps yesterday will he recover since they have put a machine hole in him that pumps air?

Depends: Your ex's recovery depends on what made his lung to collapse in the first place. If no reason is known, likely to recover but may be at risk of repeat episode. If the collapse is due to other disease, his recovery depends on that disease.
