Depends.: First off, penile yeast infections are not common. While it is common to get "jock itch", or yeast infection affecting the scrotum and inner thighs, the penis is rarely affected. If it is a yeast infection, it should be substantially better after a week of lotrimin (clotrimazole). However get a doc to look at the rash - it does not sound like yeast to me.

If : Diagnosis was correct the treatment should be effective but it may take time. I would however examine and treat ur steady partner as there is the chance of having what is called a ping-pong infection. What did your doctor tell you about this? I would certainly consider it.
