We often use: beta blockers to assist in the treatment of patients with Long QT syndrome and propranolol is a beta blocker. In general we use longer acting beta blockers than this such as metoprolol. In addition, depending on the clinical condition, family history and other issues, ICD implantation is also utilized in treatment and prevention of sudden death.
