A member asked:

I started back on the same birth control i've been off and on for almost 5 yrs now. this time i'm bleeding for almost a month. it's getting worse?

Can be normal.: Often times after starting a birth control you can have irregular bleeding. You should continue taking the pill to see if it will get better for 3 months. Of course infection, early pregnancy, hormonal imbalances and cervical cancer are other causes. Use back up contraception for at least a month. Stay current with your annual exam and discuss with your doctor if bleeding continues.
