Consider seeing a Dr: A person with diarrhea can consider seeing a doctor if his symptoms are not mild and temporary. Usually, one can expect 2-3 days of watery diarrhea, and then recovery over another 2-3 days. If there is a lot of pain, or blood or mucus in the diarrhea, a doctor should evaluate. If diarrhea doesn't slow down to small amounts after a person switches to a "diarrhea treatment diet", a doctor can check.
