A member asked:

I have what looks to be a red freckle under my eye. it's been there my whole life. is it really a freckle or could it be something else?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Angioma: This is almost certainly a microcollection of a looped vascular tuft just under the skin. Under high power the vessels would show up but in ordinary observation it just looks like a red bump. These are benign, will cause no health or visual changes and are best ignored.
