A member asked:

Can you please tell me how perimenopause, menopause, and post menopause differ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ovarian function: Perimenopause is the period of time in which your ovaries are working less well, but have not stopped producing estrogen or ovulating. Menopause is the last menstrual period - and you only know that for sure in retrospect. Post-menopause is all the years after the last menstrual period.
