Often rapid decline: This is a very difficult disease and often shortens life significantly. It is genetic so the fact that it reduces fertility can have some benefit too. Passing it on is not desirable. If he wants to share in a child's life - there may be better ways than fatherhood. Sorry. I expect this is sad for you.
