A member asked:

Is it possible to have colon cancer at 18?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Very unlikely: Colon cancer typically starts after the age of 50, although due to obesity and other factors there is been a trend of increasing incidence in the younger groups. Even so, colon cancer is very unlikely at ages younger than 40. Even if one has the classical familial polyposis which is at a higher risk for colon cancer, the average age is still 39.
