Periods vary: there is a certain amount of variability of periods. Spotting into the middle would qualify as bleeding between them and that is the more concerning, but this mostly isnt going to be anything. Regular GYN exams would likely show 1) irritation 2) minor infection 3) uterine dysplasia/tumor 4) cervical abnormality but these are less likely than just a bit irregular period or even 1st trimester ....
