Isolated low mch level is 26 pg in 13 year old. Level has been going from 26pg to 27 pg past 4 years with mchc going from 32 to 33. Ferritin is 49. Rest of cbc and cmp normal. Doctors ignore these labs. Should I be concerned?
Recently had physical. Cmp, CBC, folate,vit d, b12 all normal range. Ferritin was high at 219 (range 15-150) is this of any concern? I wasnt given explanation and numbers bother me if I dont know what they mean. I feel great. No complaints.
My daughter (20) has had two low ferritin levels, she feels light headed often and she is now bruising all over. I was worried about the possibility of Leukemia - but her CBC was normal when they did the iron studies?
Is iron supplementation ever warranted if ferritin is somewhat low? 30 ng/mL(ref 6-137). No anemia, normal CBC. I know GP needs to guide meds, but curious if low ferritin can cause symptoms. Can B12 injections for def. use up iron stores?
Can low ferritin cause shortness of breath, hair shedding, and fatigue? My level was 8. And my cbc showed slightly low for whatever shows iron.
