A member asked:

How would i know if i was pregnant in my tubes without taking a test? my last menstrual cycle was not normal from what they have been. it's been 4 yrs

Almost impossible: Some very early tubal pregnancies (betaHCG under 1000 mIU/ml) may be asymptomatic and resolve on their own or in spontaneous tubal abortions. You and your Gyn may find it impossible to know for sure. More advanced tubal pregnancies (betaHCG levels above 2000 mIU/ml) tend to cause symptoms and can be diagnosed. Many "abnormal menstrual periods" are due to transient hormonal changes which resolve
