You're correct that: a CT done soon after you sustained a concussion could miss a subdural hematoma. But, if you had one, you would have very serious symptoms (headache, partial paralysis, double vision and/or memory loss to name a few). So, if you have only mild systems (or none at all) the chance that you're walking around with a subdural hematoma is extremely unlikely. Hope you're feeling OK. Dr. Anne

Possible but....: Technically, subdurals can occur after TBI from days to weeks and in RARE instances months after an injury, however, the latter 2 time frames are seen more commonly in older patients. I'd expect a 27 year old to have declared a subudral by now. Better to be aware of your clinical status and if suspicious for anything see a doctor right away.
