Endocrinologist: Discomfort in the thyroid area combined with evidence of hyperthyroidism could indicate acute thyroiditis(inflammation of the thyroid) rather than classic grave's disease,which in my experience, isn't usually accompanied by signs of inflammation of the thyroid. However, an endocrinologist or thyroidologist is more qualified to evaluate and advise you.
