Not really: A family of dna viruses known to cause human disease includes the herpes simplex strains that are well known to cause herpes i and ii (cold sore, genital sores)and herpes zoster that cause chickenpox and shingles.There are other herpes viruses that cause human disease but these are the ones under discussion. They are not the same virus. They may be cars but ones a chevy and the other a dodge.
