Yes it can.: 23 degrees is not severe scoliosis but it can be source of pain. L5-S1 disc herniation can also be a source of pain. I am sure you are seeing pain specialist and a spine surgeon. Make sure you go over your films with spine surgeon if you have not done so and they should be able to help you with this question.

37yo F- low back pain, L sciatica, Low back hurts to press on it. GP sent for X-ray-shows lumbar facet degenerative change, mild facet hypertrophy, mild levoscoliosis, and probably mild disc narrowing at L5-S1. Is this anything to worry about?
A para central disk protrusion at L5-S1. Moderate to severe back pain &sciatica. Epidurals, facet blocks etc..Nothing helps.Surgeon says not surgical.
What is mild levoscoliosis,mild ligamentum flavum and facet hypertrophy at the L5-S1 level?
I have moderate bilateral l5/s1 facet joint arthrosis. Is arthrosis the same as arthriti? And is this a condition that will fully heal?
