Many causes: possible causes include problems with your spine, to the lining of your lungs, to your food pipe (esophagus) or even inflammation of the lining of your heart (pericarditis). Pain only at night is more likely from the stomach/foodpipe caused by stomach acid when lying down and there's no food in your stomach. If you are concerned about your heart, measure your pulse rate and report to your doctor
