No!: Some may but most do not. There are many different formulations, different strengths, different bases (gel, cream, lotion). You can also vary how often you use it from once per day to once to every few days.

Typically retinoids: The retinoid family can typically cause an outbreak at first. These include tretinoin, tarazotene, and adapalene. This can occur within the first 2-3 weeks of use. If it continues to persist past 3 weeks, I would consider stopping it or switching to a different medicine.
