No risk, no worries: Modified reply: I first thought you worried about infecting your own genitals. Your partner is not at risk; HSV is rarely if ever transmitted by hand-genital contact. The only way to transmit your oral herpes to someone is to kiss or perform oral sex on them when the virus is present. To be maximally safe with hand-genital contact, wash hands first -- but really no worries even if you don't.
