Diagnostic Method?: STI in a child raises social issues so diagnostic method must be infallible. Trichomonas is a sexually transmitted infection. In a child of age ten evaluation prior to treatment should be done in consultation with child sexual abuse team. NAAT and culture are the best methods of diagnosis. Clinical impression; over 20% false positive; not an option for use in for Pediatric medicine

Difficult: Anything is possible in medicine. However trich is usually considered transmitted through genitals. In a child, it is a concerning sign of possible sexual contact.
