Why indeed: You are at the beginning of the process of finding out, not the end. Faintness in someone your age is usually worked up by looking at stability of blood pressure and/or heart rate and rhythm. Also, anxious people who hyperventilate can feel faint. Without appropriate testing, everything else is just guesswork. Dr. Google won't help you with this one; see Dr. Live Person.
