No rhubarb; no meat: You stop eating meat altogether if you are having kidney stones. Meat gives you too much purines and phosphorus. The phosphorus tends to keep the calcium from being utilized. Avoid rhubarb which is loaded with oxalic acid as oxalate stones are over 60% of all kidney stones. Spinach, chard and beet tops are also high in oxalate and should be avoided.
