Ankle pain: Did you hear a pop? Did the area immediately swell? Are you able to stand on it? You may have a very simple strain that simply needs rest, ice, compression and elevation. The achilles tendon is a common area of injury and would also need immediate attention if it was injured. If you are concerned I recommend being seen in person!

Achilles injury: In the back of the ankle, the Achilles' tendon inserts into the heel bone or the calcaneus. You should go and have it examined by a Podiatrist to make sure that it's just a sprain and not a tear of the lower fibers of the Achilles. See a Podiatrist ASAP.
