1st time using nasal spray (it's from dr). is the unpleasant feeling of it going down nasal passage toward back of throat normal?

Sniffed too hard: 26 yo female prescribed nasal spray from doctor and now with unpleasant feeling of liquid running down back of throat. Nasal sprays only work well if patients use them properly. Sniffing the spray too hard/too much will cause liquid to run down throat and not go where it needs to (inside of nasal passages/sinuses). Please only a small sniff. And point the spray tip out and back (like towards ear)
