A member asked:

Would a leaking/ruptured ovarian cyst that caused peritonitis likely show fluid on an ultrasound?

A doctor has provided 1 answer
Dr. Paul Velt answered

Specializes in Diagnostic Radiology

Probably would: Leaking or ruptured cysts contain fluid or sometimes blood. Ultrasound is excellent for looking for that fluid.

Dr Friedlander and 3 doctors agreed
