A member asked:

Can you get antibiotic resistance for taking all of your antibiotics? or is it only if you stop. i don't think i need them. can i stop after 1 pill?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Antibiotic resistanc: The resistant bugs are produced by weakening them with an antibiotic and letting them recover. The ones that do recover may be resistant to the medicine you just stopped. When the bugs recover the med may no longer be effective so a recurrence could be far worse. So finish the course so they do not come back stronger and resistant.
