Need a diagnosis 1st: The most important step in treating vaginal discharge is to know what you are treating. There are many causes and treatment will vary. Bacterial vaginosis, yeast and STDs are the most common causes. Tests may include std cultures, ph testing, testing for yeast and bacteria vaginisis and a microscope exam ( wet prep).
