Left shoulder pain for weeks. no injury. sharp, on&off, top of the shoulder. doesn't always hurt w/ movement, and hurts when doing nothing. thoughts?

Depending on your-: -age, this could be impingement. Some symptoms include trouble putting on a coat or blouse, fastening your bra, and a positive empty can sign. You extend your arm out in front of you, elbow extended & pretend that you're emptying a can rotating your arm as is emptying a can. In Wisconsin we call it the empty beer can sign. If not painful or if it is, see an orthopedic surgeon.
