Abnormal cells: Ovarian cancer is abnormal cells of ovarian origin that multiply very rapidly and can spread outside of the ovary. Some researchers think this type of cancer actually forms from the lining of the body cavity(peritoneum). Either way, undetected it is very deadly as it happens in only 4% of female cancers, but 8% of women often die of the disease. Detection is based on suspicion & vague symptoms.
