A 45-year-old member asked:
how long is it supposed to it take after getting varicella vaccine to become immune to chicken pox?

4-6 weeks: Hard to be precise because the answer is based on when it was measured and no one checked day after day. At 4-6 weeks, immune response was strong. The exact % response varies by age. A second later dose raises overall response rates a small but significant degree. Two doses seem to keep kids protected for many many years; adults not as exact.

A 45-year-old member asked:
Do doctors think it's guarenteed that a person taken the varicella vaccine wont get chicken pox?

No: You have a better chance of not getting chicken pox. Sometimes immunizations are not 100% effective. If you are immunized you have a much better chance of not getting chickeb pox or a less severeillness if you, but it is not guarenteed.

Is it guaranteed that a person who's taken the varicella vaccine won't contract chicken pox?

No guarantees: No vaccine is 100% effective, so it's impossible to guarantee immunity, but it definitely lowers your risk.
