A member asked:

Im having a sharp stabbinpain in my upper stomach. i cannot stand up and walk because it hurts so much and when i sit it hurts less but still painful.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Debilitating pain.: A pain of this intensity should be investigated properly, and right away. This could be related to an ulcer, pancreatitis, gallbladder pathology, duodenitis, hernia or even thoracic disc herniation or shingles. Regardless, the severity of the pain argues towards something potentially bad going on, and this needs to be investigated in-person right away.
