Antifungal creams: are the main treatment for ringworm or other fungal infections of the skin. You can try over the counter Lotrimin AF first, and if not effective Tinactin (tolnaftate). But most of these fungal infections will need treatment for longer course like 10 days to 2 weeks before it will not come back. Thanks for trusting in HealthTap.

Ring Worm: Ringworm is a common fungal skin infection otherwise known as tinea. Ringworm most commonly affects the skin on the body (tinea corporis), the scalp (tinea capitis), the feet (tinea pedis, or athlete's foot), or the groin (tinea cruris, or jock itch). http://www.webmd.com/skin-problems-and-treatments/ss/slideshow-ringworm
