No: Prednisone does not cause a delay in menstrual cycles. It is important to know what disease is being treated with Prednisone as the underlying disease may or may not contribute to menstrual cycle delays. If you think you might be pregnant check then check a home pregnancy test. They are cheap, reliable and available at any pharmacy.

Possible: Irregular periods can be a side effect of prednisone use. Generally, the side effect occurs with long-term use, but that is not to say short-term use of prednisone is not responsible for your delayed or missed period. However, other possible causes also should not be ruled out.
