Sounds confusing...: Birth control pills work the same way regardless of who pays for them (insurance company pays or you pay). If missing the first 2 pills of a new pack, there is an increased chance (but still a very small chance) of pregnancy that month. If worried, and if the regular withdrawal period doesn't come, one can do a home urine pregnancy test when starting next month's pack of pills.
