Bladder sphincter: Holding your water requires tightening the urinary sphincter. This valve is muscular and prolonged tension requires fighting normal reflexes and super muscle tension. This causes some sphincter muscle spasm and residual tightness with narrowing. The bladder muscle forces urine thru this narrow opening causing discomfort until the sphincter muscle fully relaxes and opens then Ahhh!
