Could you tell me if steroids are so bad how come people lance armstrong and schwarzenegger look okay?

In perspective: Some people say that up to one million people in the us will use Anabolic steroids to enhance muscle growth this year. Most will not ruin their health by doing so. It is cheating, it is illegal (i think it's a good law), and they can make you go nuts. This said, i'd rather my own son use a steroid under close supervision than take up smoking or give up exercising in favor of drinking beer.
