Blood in stool: Blood in the stool is not normal and should be checked out.

Several thoughts.: If stools otherwise look normal in color and consistency, then could be hemorrhoids or anal fissure. If accompanied by diarrhea and episodic, could be ulcerative colitis or other inflammatory colitis. If stools are black and tarry, could be stomach ulcer or gastritis. Unfortunately there are several thoughts depending on actual presentation of blood.
