BV? STD?: Any new, abnormal, or unexplained vaginal discharge should be professionally evaluated. The most common cause of vaginal discharge with strong odor (often "fishy") is bacterial vaginosis (BV), overgrowth of mostly normal vaginal bacteria. The STD trichomonas also can do it, and BV is especially common in women with gonorrhea, chlamydia, or other STDs (if at risk). So see a doctor soon. Good luck!
