Hard to say: The blood from your period raises the ph of your vagina a little. The ph change can cause some different odors. It could be an infection and should be checked out by your doctor to be sure. However if (s)he doesn't see anything and there is no discharge or other symptoms associated with it there is probably nothing to worry about.
