Can you let me know how many years of drinking does it take to cause heart and liver damage?

It varies: Most heavy drinkers never have any loss of cardiac function as a result. A boozy weekend will give you a fatty liver but this clears in a few days. A month or two of heavy drinking can unpredictably cause you to get alcoholic hepatitis (even if you sober up) which can kill you. And only about 1 problem drinker in 3 gets cirrhosis and it takes a lot for a long time. Get sober for those you love.
