Long bone: By age 36 should have known by now that your long bones have closed. How tall are you and how much taller, if any, are you still gaining height? Please let me know.

No: No, the growth plates in long bones ultimately will close, even in patients with acromegaly. They can reach taller height than average, but ultimately their growth plates will close at a relatively normal time. They can continue to experience growth through their flat bones, which do not have growth plates, which can cause their skulls and facial bones to be disproportionately large.
