Need to see physicia: Dear Abhishek: the appropriate treatment will depend on what is causing the enlarged glands (they are probably lymph nodes). You definitely need to see a physician to further evaluate the cause and give appropriate treatment. There are many different possible causes of enlarged lymph nodes and many do not require surgery. All the best, Ariel.

Need an exam: Lymph node enlargement(lymphadenopathy) is often due to a recent infection and sometimes underlying malignancy, or other disorders. If the lymph nodes have been present for a long time without enlarging in size there is less chance of malignancy. It would be best to have your physician examen you. He or she may decide to watch the nodes for a while or possibly order a lymph node biopsy.
