I drink alcohol about 2x a month probably more than a moderate amount each time. is it safe to start metformin?i worry about lactic acidosis/fainting

Prudence advised: B"sd lactic acidosis is very rare and have never seen it in this setting - the formal recommendation to avoid the combination. More likely you might experience hypoglycemia. this would be more common in adolescents. Drinking with food would help guard against the hypoglycemia.
