Med interactions: According to a drug interaction check, the absorption level of the Ceftin (cefuroxime) may be affected by lowered stomach acid which is what omeprazole does. It appears that any medication that lowers the acid would have this affect (for example, Zantac or Pepcid). This would reduce the effectiveness of the Ceftin (cefuroxime). You may want to discuss this with the doctor who prescribed the Ceftin (cefuroxime) or your pharmacist.
