SHOCKING EVENT!: Household AC current in the UK is between 220 V and 240 V. If the contact was brief, and it sounds like it was from your account, then it is highly probable that your "shock and fizzle" is the extent it. HOWEVER, if you currently have any concerning symptoms or just need additional "peace of mind", then a trip to Emergency would be in order.
