Yes often individual: B"sd There is a gentic component - in a recent study from Scotland looking at 520,000 genetic snippets about 11% of the variance in body size and shape was accounted for. That leaves about 90% up for grabs and available to influence beyond inheritence. It doesn' mean it is easy and certainly much harder for some, but in my experience we can help just about everyone with a weight problem
