A member asked:

How fast does radiation dissipate after it has been released?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The 7-10 rule: The danger of radiation from fallout decreases with time. With each factor-of-seven increase in time (7 hours after the fallout hits, 49 hours afterwards, 343 hours (2 weeks) afterwards, etc... ) the radiation is reduced by a factor of 10.
