If one does not adjust or if the cause is not clear certainly seek professional help. "feeling good" by david burns is an excellent self-help book based on science. Depression help: Depression can be more complicated to recognize than most think. Mood changes, low energy, worsening sleep etc may be some hallmarks; but depression is not always obvious even to family and friends. Depression can also co-exist with or be caused by medical problems. Best to see your pcp and ask for referral to a mental health professional. Depression is treatable!
